Our research focused on understanding the emotional and practical challenges students face during the transition to higher education. We conducted interviews with high school students to better understand how they perceive the transition to higher education and the struggles they face during this period.
From our research we managed to identify specific needs based on things these students feel are missing:
Guidance and Reduced Stress
Students feel overwhelmed by the number of choices and the pressure to make the right decision.
Community and Connection
There's a desire to connect with peers and professionals for advice and shared experiences, combating feelings of isolation.
Trust and Authenticity
Users seek reliable, unbiased information and genuine support.
This is João. One of our three personas for this project.
He's your typical high school student, he likes video games and his friends. He never gave much thought to the future and is now worried about choosing his next step in life.
Luckily for him, Upling is here!
We also mapped João's journey before, during and after using Upling, what he feels at different points and what features we'd need to help him.
